The period from pregnancy to age 3 is the most critical since a child’s brain grows fastest during this time with 80% of the brain formed by this age.

Providing holistic nurturing care to young children  

In 2020, Prudence Foundation entered a partnership with UNICEF to develop a regional strategy aligned with Nurturing Care Framework that focuses on the first 1,000 days to advance early childhood development in Asia.

The strategy also includes the development of an awareness and communication programme to equip parents and caregivers with knowledge and skill to provide holistic nurturing care to the young children. The programme will be piloted in Indonesia in 2021, aiming to reach 90,000 parents and children in its first year of implementation.
